Adagio

Adagio, a musical term, evokes a sense of slowness In tempo. This series of visceral sculptures alms to recreate this feeling through forms that appear to be suspended In a gravity-free environment. Adagio serves as an antidote to the fast-paced, two-dimen­sional world of digital screens, encouraging viewers to slew down and appreciate dimension through a collection of minimally gestured figurative and still Ille compositions. 

The forms are created through a unique process, using elastic textiles that are sewn and Injected with a liquid that expands and cures Into a solid state between layered elastic fabrics. The resulting works, painted In a gradient of oil paint, take on a neutral palette, further encouraging a slower pace of being.
